Help us plan the future of recreation!

The Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a Community Recreation Needs Assessment. Over the course of approximately six months, we will conduct surveys and focus group meetings to gather community feedback. The outcome of this work will guide strategic planning to equitably meet future community needs.

Survey and focus group data will inform staff of community preferences for recreation programs, events, outdoor athletic facilities, indoor recreational/community centers, gymnasiums, and aquatic space. This process is not intended to gather feedback on trail development or park land acquisition.

The assessment will tell us how the community currently uses recreational services. Questions explore equitability, barriers to participation, and willingness to pay for programs and facilities.

We invite the public to complete the survey, ask questions, and share ideas. Let your neighbors and friends know we're listening, and encourage them to participate as well.

  • CLOSED: This survey has concluded.

This survey was built to assess community needs, desires and opinions on two key community topics: Recreational Facilities and Recreational Programs. There are 36 questions, and it should take you about 10-15 minutes to complete. We know a lot has changed since March of 2020. For the purposes of the survey please try to answer from a "post pandemic" perspective. If COVID-19 changed the way you recreate, you will have a chance to tell us about it at the end of the survey.
